How To Reset A Playstation 3 Six Axis Controller

Resetting your Playstation 3 controller.

Try this before you buy a new play station 3 controller.

This can occur if you bring your controller around to your friends houses to play PS3 games. If a Playstation 3 controller attempts to synchronize to too many PS3 consoles, it will start to have problems connecting to different PS3 machines. This results in varying input and a large amount of aggravation. In order to fix this, just reset the controller's internal memory by using a paper clip or similar to depress the recessed button seen in the image below.

(1) Hold your controller like you normally would when playing a game, and then flip it over.

(2) Use a paperclip to hit the Reset button on the back of your controller. The button is located to the right of the screw found above the sticker on the back of the controller.

(3) Connect your controller to your Playstation 3 via the usb cable.

(4) Press the PS button on the front of the controller. The system will boot up, and your controller is now reset and synced with your PlayStation 3.
